Welcome to Dr. V. R. Godhaniya I.T. College, Porbandar - a vibrant hub of innovation, technology, and excellence. Bifurcated in 2017, our institution was created to meet the rising demand for quality Information Technology education in the region. Growing out of the esteemed Dr. Virambhai Godhaniya College of Arts, Commerce, Home Science & Information Technology, we now operate from our state-of-the-art campus opposite the New Airport Building, designed to inspire learning and creativity. Our academic journey is built upon a strong legacy. For nearly two decades (1999–2016), IT education was offered as a dedicated self-financed department under the parent institution, affiliated with Saurashtra University, Rajkot. During this period, we nurtured thousands of students through industry-relevant programs such as BCA, B.Sc. (IT) (formerly BIT), PGDCA, DCS, and M.Sc. (IT & CA). The roots of our excellence go even deeper. The parent institution—founded in 1988 by the Shri Maldevji Odedara Smarak Trust, Porbandar—was among the pioneers in introducing computer education in the region. Starting with the CCS certificate course in 1988 and a part-time DCS diploma in the early 1990s, the college paved the way for modern computer literacy long before the digital revolution began. In 2016, as part of the Government of Gujarat’s academic restructuring, the institution came under the affiliation of Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh, enhancing our commitment to quality and standardized higher education. Today, Dr. V. R. Godhaniya I.T. College stands proudly as an independent, forward-thinking Information Technology institute—empowering students with cutting-edge skills, industry exposure, and a future-ready mindset. .
